“The experience was really awesome. The pickup was sharply on time. Hege knows everything about hiking in that area and was accommodating to all of our different needs. I was deciding between this sunrise tour and the normal daytime one and I'm happy to report that the sunrise one is the BEST decision. You arrive when noone is there yet and got time to leisurely enjoy the view and take as many photos as you want. No waiting in line. It was so peaceful and incredible. The view is absolutely stunning, as gorgeous as the photos appear or even better. The hike was pretty easy and I estimate if hiking…”

Before heading back. The walk was easy and suitable for all abilities with as much time for taking photos as you wished. We then spent time meeting the sleigh dogs which was a real highlight and makes this experience extra special if you are an animal lover. Stavanger: Guided Sunrise Hike to Pulpit Rock

8.Guided Sunrise Hike to Pulpit Rock

★★★★★★★★★★4.2 · 5 reviews · from $156

Leave Stavanger around 1:00 AM for a guided 4-kilometer hike to Pulpit Rock. You’ll walk with up to seven other people, reach the cliff for sunrise, bring your own food and water, then return by minibus.

“The tour was very worthwhile. On a good day, up to 4000 people hike up here. With a sunrise tour you can elegantly avoid the rush hour. The path is good but you always walk on big stones. Sticks can help. The tour description is partly outdated. You take the minibus from Stavanger through the new tunnel to the starting point. The start time was also not entirely clear everywhere. Pick up time in summer was 01:00. Gloves and a hat are highly recommended. Once you are up there waiting for the sun it gets chilly and cold.Read more”
